Everything We Do

Last night, two different artists took to the dimly lit basement of The Sunflower Lounge; it was a busy evening as the room filled up with people who clearly enjoyed the show, with music ranging from acoustic to some tunes with a more indie-pop feel. The performances given were pure entertainment and offered an immersive musical experience.

With singer-songwriter Jamie Grey on first, his sincere lyrics clearly struck a strong impression on the crowd. His powerful voice echoed through the basement room, and it was clear that singing is what he was made to do. Jamie clearly has a passion for music, especially his own, as he seemed to share some honest and emotional messages through his lyrics which made the crowd smile and even shed some tears. He played some original songs, such as ‘Yesterday’ which had many people singing along, alongside his final two songs ‘Come Back Up’ and ‘Here Now’. From the way the room was filled with claps, cheers, and whistles, it was clear that the audience couldn’t get enough of him.

Grey’s voice was the perfect blend of emotion and delicate control, and, mixed with the powerful strums of his guitar, his performance was truly something else. Jamie Grey proved himself to have a true talent and certainly left a mark on all who were fortunate enough to see his performance.

Headliners Everything We Do then took to the stage and filled the room with a sense of intimacy and warmth. Joe and Kaity, the talented duo behind the band, possessed a unique chemistry that elevated their performance to something special. Kaity’s delicate vocals and keyboard skills intertwined seamlessly with Joe’s deeper voice and guitar work, creating the perfect sound.

Performing a collection of original songs, Everything We Do treated the audience to a selection of some emotional ballads like ’27 club’, as well as some more upbeat pop-infused tracks like their brand new single ‘eyes off u’. Each song was delivered with a sense of authenticity that resonated deeply with the crowd, eliciting nods of approval and knowing smiles from those watching.

One of the highlights of the night was the duo’s performance of ‘As Long As You Love Me’. With just an acoustic guitar and Kaity’s soft vocals, the friends of 6 years managed to capture the essence of the song in its purest form.

As the evening drew to a close and the final notes of their set faded into the night, it was clear that the audience had loved every second of their show. The pair said their goodbyes and described their recent headline shows as “core memories,” and it was clear how thankful they were.

With their undeniable talent proven through their soulful lyrics and musical skills, Everything We Do showed themselves to be a true gem on the new and upcoming music scene. If you ever have the opportunity to experience their music live, don’t hesitate – it will truly be a night to remember.
