Hailing from the urban dystopia of Digbeth, Birmingham – Umbilical is an Alt-Rock/Shoegaze band harbouring the fuzz infused sounds of my bloody valentine and Lovesliescrushing and the reverb-laden soundscapes of Slowdive and Airiel. Despite being heavily influenced by the shoegaze classics, Umbilical also embrace the Pop/ Dream-pop sensibilities of Mazzy Star and Lana Del Rey with themes of death, theology and philosophical thought epitomising the lyrical content.
