The Mease are Derby’s biggest followed new indie band and are set to release their debut album in 2022 – following up their independent releases this to date.
On a mission to unleash mega-catchy guitar tunes reminiscent of the golden era of British indie rock n roll, The Mease sound has been likened to The Coral, The Verve and early Oasis. The five-piece indie psych-pop rockers regularly feature on BBC Introducing and are expanding their live presence across the UK with headline slots in Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby and a Main Stage festival slot in The Cotswolds supporting The Bluetones.
In just 6 months, the Mease have written, recorded and released a 5-track debut EP and 5 singles, grown 2,500 engaged Instagram followers and are about to start recording their debut album.
The Mease have just released a treat for the true indie fans with a special double A-side featuring straight up rock n roll tune ‘This Town’ and a psychedelic 90s trip ‘(Black & White) Shades of Blue’. The latter is a fan favourite from their live set which has been captivating audiences as their set closer. It’s 50% The Verve, 25% Kasabian, 25% Primal Scream.
‘This Town’ is another rip-roaring guitar attack of a tune, this time written by bass player Adam Goulding and is sure to go down a storm with fans of Oasis, The Sherlocks and The Skinner Brothers.
Tricky Business are a hard-hitting rock three-piece based in Birmingham. The band draws upon a wide range of influences, both old and contemporary, to create a unique and original sound. Since their first live appearance in 2018, Tricky Business have been regularly playing shows in the West Midlands and beyond, developing a reputation as a skilled and energetic live act. In June of the same
year, the band also released their debut EP.
In 2019, the group also began performing acoustic concerts; playing more intimate shows alongside their usual electric gigs, showcasing their ability to be dynamic. The year marked a high point for Tricky Business as a live act. In 2020, Tricky Business released three new singles which have proven to be their most popular and well-received tracks. In 2021 the band returned to the stage following COVID restrictions, and are planning a fully-fledged return to live music for 2022.
