Martial Arts are a Manchester-based band on the up, carving out a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting new acts. Drawing comparisons to Shame and The Murder Capital, the band’s ferocious art-punk has led to shows for Speedy Wunderground, So Young Magazine, The Great Escape, and summer 2025 support slots for Bloc Party’s ‘Silent Alarm’ anniversary show at On The Beach, Brighton, as well as Gurriers’ outdoor extravaganza at Projekts Skatepark, Manchester. The band have also taken their talents abroad, bringing their electrifying live shows to France and Portugal, with their 3 tracks released to date championed by 6 Music, John Kennedy (XFM), BBC Introducing and Skin (Skunk Anansie) on Absolute Radio.

Of Martial Art’s intentions, lead singer Jim Marson reflects: “We’re building a platform with an emphasis on positive change instead of self-indulgence, despite the world itself feeling selfish. This encapsulates the motive behind not only our lyrics but also us as a collective.”
