Beachcomber feat. Funky Motive, Harry Dylan King & Collective Misfortune

Channelling the vibes of bands such as DIIV, JAWS, Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing, indie dream-pop band Beachcomber are the latest band to emerge from Sheffield’s vibrant Kelham Island music scene. Combining wistful vocals with dreamy, chorused guitars, driving bass and crashing drums, their washed-out sound contrasts starkly against the post-industrial landscape of their adopted hometown. The band have been making waves since 2018, playing at key UK venues and supporting indie-pop outfits Beach Baby, China Bears, High Hazels and October Drift. Approaching everything they do with the same hardworking, DIY, ‘give-it-your-all’ ethos, their packed-out shows are a testament to their growing popularity and captivating sound and energetic live performances.

Emerging strong out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Beachcomber’s spring 2022 debut EP release ‘A Sea Above’, which included the enthusiastically received opening track Deep Blue, explored themes such as self-redemption and the simple pleasures of getting away from it all. Now, with 2023 having rolled in, the band are hot of buzz of their first tour, with big plans in store for the rest of this year, including 3 brand new singles and many more headline shows.
