CHILDCARE + LAZY DAY + CYMBELINE
CHILDCARE announce UK ‘Luckyucker’ tour.
In celebration of the release of their Luckyucker EP, CHILDCARE are heading out on a full UK tour in October.
The group’s now oft recanted formation story remains a point of interest. It all started when Ed Cares, one of West London’s most in-demand male nannies, was overheard humming a song he had written, by Katie, aged six, who persuaded him to form a band. Josh, eight, boldly proclaimed: “You’re probably my second favourite artist after Katy Perry.”
Their debut EP, Made Simple, released last year, earned them all sorts of tastemaker acclaim and national radio play with prestigious UK tastemakers DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland and The 405 all tipping the group as one’s to watch.
With a sling of festivals including the legendary Reading and Leeds and a recent Radio 1 Maida Vale session tucked safely under their belts, the band’s vivid and visceral live show has gone from strength to strength.
By adding yet another stellar release to their oeuvre in Luckyucker , CHILDCARE look set to cement themselves as one of London’s most exciting emerging acts.
The quartet is completed by Emma Topolski (Bass, Vocals), Rich Legate (Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Glyn Daniels (Drums, Backing Vocals).

Lazy Day began life in 2014 as the solo bedroom project of Tilly Scantlebury . Self-recording her tracks on Garageband and making them available online, she quickly gained attention and praise from respected music websites and blogs. Since then Lazy Day have steadily gone from strength to strength, expanding to a four-piece band with a sound as intimate and dreamy as it is biting and bold.
Their debut EP ‘Ribbons’ was released in September 2017 and was played by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music . 2017 also saw Lazy Day complete their first headline UK tour, playing 12 shows up and down the country and selling out both London and Bristol.
2018 hasn’t slowed down for Lazy Day, with the release of new single ‘Weird Cool’ on Art is Hard Records, a string of packed out headline shows, and a support tour with Alex Lahey. They’ve just announced tour dates with Jay Som and Amber Arcades, before heading into the studio to record their next batch of new songs with funding from PRS ReBalance scheme.
