Another exciting night at The Sunflower Lounge saw three incredible performers take to the stage: Lucky Number You; Real Cool; and headlining the night was Eleanor K. A truly nostalgic experience, with music from genres such as 80s and 90s Alternative, Indie Rock and Anti-Pop.

Lucky Number You, the first band to play, are a three-piece from Birmingham whose unique sound is unclassifiable in absolutely the best way; mixing together inspirations from both Classic Rock and Synthpop from the 80s and 90s. These guys brought the good vibes and energy, starting the night off perfectly. Their nostalgic sound was paired with dynamic and exciting lyrics that you just can’t help dancing along to!

Next up were 3-piece, Indie Pop-Rock band Real Cool. They effortlessly combine the piano ballad and the rock-ish aesthetic, creating music which is both edgy and romantic. Some stand-out tracks for me included ‘Stay Quiet’, ‘It Was Love’ and ‘Way Back’. These guys truly live up to their name; creating music which is unique and without restriction.

Finally, our incredible headliner: Eleanor K! She brought us a set filled to the brim with fun vibes and gorgeous vocals; a combination of original tracks and a couple of really cool covers – a great way to debut her solo career. Her latest single ‘Wonky’ began with sombre, poignant and atmospheric instrumentation, which built in intensity until an explosive chorus, all married together with beautiful vocals. Eleanor was clearly comfortable on stage, making her simply mesmerising to watch as she danced across the stage, vibing with both the crowd and her awesome backing band. Her music radiated with that feel-good pop energy that moved through the crowd. An amazing night all round – I’m really looking forward to hearing more from her as she releases more music later this year!
