There’s a confidence to KEYSIDE that’s bigger than their history. It’s in their lyrical guitar pop, firmly rooted in the classics but with a vision all of their own. The way singer Dan Parker can sweep from yearning, to joy, to vulnerability, as his words demand, his golden Liverpool lilt unmistakeable. The way the craft and melodic uplift of their songs can momentarily blind you to the substance and emotional undertow of their lyrics. Parker spins tales of people you’ll recognise, facing challenges you’ll feel, a socially conscious storytelling that doesn’t shy away from the complexities of our world – or the possibility of redemption within it.

Parker felt lost in the wilds until music helped him negotiate his teenage wastelands. As he found his way around the guitar, he developed a voice as timeless and bewitching as the songs he’d begun to write. At a local house party, where they’d jammed for hours on tunes by Oasis and Pink Floyd, Parker found his perfect foil in lead guitarist Ben Cassidy. Later, he played Cassidy his songs – still embryonic, but already sounding like classics – and KEYSIDE quickly took shape, enlisting rhythm section Max Gibson (bass) and Oisin McAvoy (drums).

In just two years, KEYSIDE has crafted a distinct sound with standout tracks like the infectious “Angeline,” the brooding “Nikita,” and the haunting “Turn Back The Time.” Their songwriting and chemistry are impossible to ignore, catching the attention of tastemakers like BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and Radio X. With sold-out headline shows in Liverpool and Manchester, support slots for Mick Head, Shed Seven and Jamie Webster, and festival appearances at YNOT and On The Waterfront, KEYSIDE isn’t just emerging – they’re already commanding attention. Firmly rooted at Liverpool’s Modern Sky UK label, home to The Coral and Miles Kane, KEYSIDE is poised to cement their place in the modern indie landscape.

But with KEYSIDE, what matters is the music. And their new single ‘Runaway’, plus their forthcoming second EP, due early next year, is their finest work yet. Produced by regular collaborator Chris Taylor (The Coral, Blossoms), these next releases showcase a group firmly in the lineage of the greats, evoking the depth and sophistication of The Smiths, the abundant songcraft of The La’s, the ambition of The Stone Roses – a true Northern powerhouse.

And still KEYSIDE are only scratching the surface of their promise – more brilliance awaits.
