OWES

Yampy Promotions presents OWES + guests.

OWES hail from Hemel Hempstead, UK. Formed and thwarted almost immediately in the haze of 2020 they found themselves confined to isolation and a completely remote means of creating.

Their debut EP, “THE ‘FRIENDS IN DARK PLACES’ EP” was released in the summer of 2023, accompanied by the single “money’s worth”, which has become a stalwart in their live performances. After a period of convalescence they released the single “grad stuff” with very little by way of introduction in September 2024.

In November of that year, they won a Battle of the Bands competition organised by legendary outfit The Zombies, who formed in St. Albans, only fifteen minutes or so down the road from OWES’ home of Hemel Hempstead. This led to the moment on the night where they had the privilege of playing alongside Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Hugh Grundy.
The winnings from the competition were spent on recording for a batch of singles expected across the next 12 months.

As we approach and cross five years of OWES, the time elapsed since formation and the urgency to take their craft to the next level is not lost on them. With the five year mark being on 13/02/2025, they played a set jam packed with songs old and new at London’s Signature Brew, Haggerston. This also saw in their latest single, “because i love him”, which was released on Valentine’s Day.
