Introducing: Will And The People

Will And The People

Will And The People are back on the road following a live hiatus, and the band are doing a string of UK and Europe shows this summer, all acoustic, but with a twist. See them in their rawest of forms testing new material as they prepare for their fourth studio album.

Will And The People is the manifestation of Will Rendle’s outlandish and unique musical vision. With Will at the reins, this group are proof of what a hard working band can achieve with a clear vision and off-kilter, whimsical, instant pop songs.

WATP’s attention to melody, something they proudly state comes from their biggest influence Bob Marley, lends to their infectious sound that has audiences dancing around the world. “Our music seems to have become a security for some people, which tells us we are doing something right and it is worth pursuing confidently as we are” explains Will. “There is nothing better than knowing our music effects people, except maybe watching them dance in the moments”.

With strong comparisons to The Police, who they supported at Hyde Park in 2008, WATP’s sound is scattered with skanking rhythms and bouncing beats, delivered with a smooth but raucous energy. 2012 saw the release WATP’s self-titled debut album through their own record label Baggy Trouser Music.
