CANCELLED: ONLY GIRL
*THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED*
A message from Only Girl –
After a long time reflecting and going back and forth through everything in my mind, I’ve come to the difficult decision to bring the Only Girl project to a close for the foreseeable future, so will be cancelling all upcoming releases and live dates (promoters will issue refunds for any tickets already purchased).
This was an incredibly hard decision to come to for so many reasons – as this has been a huge part of me for the last 6 years; the music has documented my life and brought me through some of the hardest times I could imagine. Only Girl has always been like an extension of me; some of my most personal thoughts and feelings, shared with the world.
I’ve lived out so many of my musical dreams, like selling out headline shows, singing with choirs, playing SXSW, hearing my songs on the radio, releasing music that I’m so proud of and collaborating with some amazing producers and artists. I’ll continue to make music in other forms, to collaborate with other artists, to spread my love of music through DJing and maybe at some time in the future I’ll feel like I have another Only Girl song to share, but for now I need to step away from everything.
My life has changed a lot in the last year and for many personal reasons I feel like I need to retreat and go into hibernation, and remember what I loved about writing music and playing live. In a world where everything is always so on display, sometimes you need to save your own sanity and take yourself away from everything to heal and start again. I just want to thank everyone who’s ever supported me over the years from the bottom of my heart – thank you for coming to my shows and listening to my music. Thank you for reaching out and letting me know how the music has touched you and being the most beautiful fans that I could ask for.
They say it’s not the destination that counts but the journey that gets you there – and boy have I had the most amazing journey over the last 6 years – the experiences I’ve had, the moments I’ve shared with some amazing people, and the lifelong friends that I’ve made. So I look forward to the future and to see where my journey takes me next.
Lots of love always
