M A R C + MAKE FRIENDS + COTTER
Their debut single, ‘She’s a 10’ came out in May, accompanied by their debut music video. We can expect big things from this fresh new band. For fans of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Hard-Fi and Shed 7.
Make Friends are a dynamic four piece dispensing progressive indie-pop, laced with infectious grooves, big-crowd sing-along chorus’ and ethereal washes of glacial guitar – it all driving forward their truly original big-stage festival sound.
They hail from Bristol where from their Avon-delta home studio they propel forward a sound with echoes of current acts such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, Virginia Wing and harking back a little further, The Police, The Cure, Prefab Sprout. Summer 2018 saw Make Friends head to Geoff Barrow’s Invada Studios, Bristol where they recorded the long-awaited debut EP with acclaimed Everything Everything keys player and producer Pete Sené. In the shadow of Bristol’s musical heritage they grappled with new arrangements, complex grooves, stretched chords – inverting what they knew to hone and mould their truly exciting new sound.
Birmingham singer-songwriter with a soulful voice and honest approach to songwriting. Commanding on stage and usually found with a drink in hand, Cotter confidently accompanies his singing with intricate guitar parts. With singles available online to stream and more releases planned for the end of the year this artist is one to watch.
